AKV
  • Freely suspended active chilled beam
  • Low height construction
  • End mounted side entry spigot for fresh air
  • Heat exchanger horizontal without condensate drip tray
  • Project bespoke design

The active chilled beams type AKV are used in air-water systems to supply fresh air and heat and cool room air. They combine the air flow characteristics of ceiling diffusers with the energy benefits of load dissipation through the medium of water.

The primary air volume flow required for fresh air supply is discharged through a primary duct fitted with a nozzle plate. The secondary air thus induced is drawn from the room, conveyed through a heat exchanger and heated or cooled. In the mixing zone the induced air is mixed with the primary air and discharged into the room through slot diffusers. These units can be used for cooling or heating.

Their low height design makes active chilled beams of type AKV-D particularly suitable for use in restricted height false ceiling voids. In rooms or buildings with no false ceilings, these units can be free hanging directly beneath the ceiling (type AKV-F).
