Fire & Smoke Dampers

The Trox fire dampers provide isolation of fire areas in ventilation and air- conditioning systems. The construction and operation corresponds to the principal requirements of fire protection installations. The symmetrical position of the damper blade allows installation into walls or ceilings (horizontal and vertical) of the direction of air flow. The external operation and control components - enables the installed damper to be rapidly checked for correct functioning.

This excellent fire damper is SABS approved and has the 2 hour rating. This means that in addition to the high quality standard of Trox, the production of this product is being monitored by the SABS. The SABS frequently test the function of the damper. We consider this a very expensive procedure but necessary to ensure and prove the permanent safety of our fire protection equipment. The TROX FSD range of curtain bladed fire dampers , provides fast acting positive barrier against the spread of fire though ducts. The blades which are riveted to the top of the frame and securely locked to the bottom, also form a shield to retard the spread of smoke. These dampers are suitable for installation in walls and ceilings made from concrete or brickwork. The blades are held in the open position by a fusible link which as soon as the air duct reaches the melting point of the link the spring tensioned blades clamp shut to form an impenetrable fire barrier. There is a wide choice of sizes available for low, medium and high velocity applications and include rectangular, square, circular and flat oval connections. This fire damper is also SABS approved. The same procedure as the FDF is being followed.

The TROX FRK and FRL are fire dampers which provide an automatic means of isolating areas of fire in ventilation system. These dampers are suitable for installation in walls and ceilings made from concrete or brickwork and are independent of mounting orientation and direction of air flow. The thermal release uses a fusible link or glass cartridge which operates at > 72 to 70 °C
